Important Deadlines:
  • Texas business owners are required to file Form 50-144, Business Personal Property Rendition every year. A 10% penalty will be applied if not filed by the deadline date of April 15th.

  • Form 50-114 - Residence Homestead Exemption Applications are due before May 1st.
  • Form 50-129 - Applications for 1-d-1 (Open-Space) Agricultural Use Appraisal (Ag Exemption Application) are due before May 1st.

  • 1-d-1 Open Space Agricultural Valuation Wildlife Management Annual Report for 2026 are due before May 1st.

The Goliad County Appraisal District only handles appraisal values.


The Goliad County Appraisal District appraises property for ad valorem taxation of these taxing authorities.

NOTICE:  THE GOLIAD COUNTY TAX OFFICE IS NOW COLLECTING THE TAXES FOR ALL OF THE GOLIAD COUNTY ENTITIES.

The duties of the appraisal district include:

  • The determination of market value of taxable property
  • The administration of exemptions and special valuations authorized by the local entities and the State of Texas
Tax rates and ultimately the amount of taxes levied on property are determined by governing bodies of each of the taxing authorities. Mineral, utility and industrial accounts are appraised for the district by Pritchard & Abbot, Inc. in Houston, Texas. Real estate and personal property accounts are appraised locally by the district.
